TRANSLATOR AND PROOFREADER

My name is Jennifer and I am a professional English, French and Catalan into Spanish audiovisual translator, copy editor and proofreader. Mi passion for languages, literature, movies and tv is what has brought me to where I am.

Professional career

I work as a freelance translator since 2015 for different major players in the entertainment industry. During this decade, I have gained invaluable experience both subtitling and QC-ing a vast number of titles in a wide array of genres. I subtitle fiction series and films, reality shows, documentaries, and animation, both for children and adults. I have also been working with dubbing studios and I have translated dubbing scripts for series and animes.

All this means I have a deep understanding of subtitles and dubbing translation, best practices in the subtitling industry, as well as the practical technical aspects and challenges that this area present.

I am a hard-working, dedicated freelancer who always focuses on their clients’ needs; I always strive to provide the best quality possible, while respecting deadlines. I am quick to adapt to changes and I am a team-player, having worked in tandem whenever the need has arisen. Of course, I am intimately acquainted with different subtitling tools, so I can swiftly adjust to new working environments.

I’m also a member of ATRAE, Asociación de Traducción y Adaptación Audiovisual de España. (Spanish Association of Audiovisual Translation and Adaptation.)
